Lindsey RubyKhan: "I've taken 3 buses thus far in Sri Lanka. I have never been more scared for my life! 😂 These buses typically have a Buddah statue up front, pumping Sri Lankan music, a Sri Lankan movie playing, and 50-11 people jam packed on the bus. This bus in particular zoomed down the lane almost running over a fare share of people, cars, motor bikes, trucks, etc. 😂 This bus driver was stopping for NO ONE. You just better get out of his way."
This story reminds me of the role of "Capheus (Van Damn)" played by my friend Aml Ameen in the Netflix Series Sense8. Capheus (Van Damn) Is a fiery, charismatic, loving generous, wild bus driver who is struggling to survive. Despite his lack of community and material wealth and educational opportunities, he puts his considerable courage and resourcefulness to good use and builds a small transportation business. He acquires a bus the "Van Damn" and uses it to transport passengers to and around Nairobi.
If you haven't seen the show Sense8 I highly recommend you watch it on Netflix now!
Sense8 tells the story of eight strangers each from a different culture and part of the world. While living their everyday lives, they suddenly have a unified vision and discover that they are "sensates": otherwise normal humans who are mentally and emotionally connected and who are able to communicate, sense and use each other's knowledge, language and skills. While trying to live their lives and figure out how and why this connection has happened and what it means, they are aided by another sensate, who is trying to protect them from a similarly empowered sensate called "Whispers", who hunts down sensates by tapping into their psychic link.
How is this connected to Living The Alchemist?
Besides the obvious stated above:
~ People connecting with each other though they are from different places and cultures
~ Strangers being connected by a unified vision
~ Being able to communicate without words
~ Sharing Knowledge and skills
~ Psychic links
A few weeks before going to brazil I went to the Farmers Market by the Third Street Promenade with one of my friends. About 2 days prior to going my friend Aml popped up in my head, I tried calling him but his number changed. I then opened up my email to send him a message but spirit said "If you guys are meant to connect you will! You already held the intention to connect with him in your mind" So I closed out the email and decided to trust that what is meant to be will be. Fast forwarding back to the Farmers Market. As my friend and I walked up and down the rows of fruits and veggies I looked up and saw a familiar face walking towards me. It was my friend Aml walking past the Farmers Market with earphones in his ear! AML! I screamed to get his attention. He stopped and we talked for a while catching up. I told him that I was going on my Living The Alchemist journey to Brazil in a few weeks and he started laughing. I asked him what was so funny and he replied "I'm going to be in Brazil the same time as you shooting Season 2 of Sense8" I laughed and told him the story of me trying to reach out to him prior to running into him. We both agreed that us running into each other was no coincidence it was much more then running into an old friend. It was a reminder of the energetic connection between the physical and non physical and the power of thought.
"Every second of the search is an encounter with God. When I have been truly searching for my treasure, every day has been luminous...I've discovered things along the way that I never would have seen had I not had the courage to try things that seemed impossible for a shepherd to achieve." ~Paulo Coelho #LivingTheAlchemist
