Inspired by the events happening currently in America that indeed reflect a global call for us to focus more on love and light. My mom told me recently that she is glad I'm overseas as she feels I'm saver overseas then at home right now as an African American...this tragic statement of being "unsafe" the place I was born in because the color of my skin led to write this song among many other issues including pollution, unconstitutional political imprisonment of young black males, and wars ravaging our brothers and sisters in many countries INCLUDING America. It is a call to action for us to be firm in our focus on love, light and unity. I had the opportunity to debut this song on my alchemy journey in Seoul, South Korea at an event sponsored by the U.S. Embassy and my aim was to help shift our vibrations...from control and dictatorship to love and self-proclaimed freedom.
Verse 1:
We don’t need control
We need love
We don’t need more jails
We need gardens
We don’t need money
We need mirrors
To see the greed In our reflection Clearer
Chorus :
Let’s spread love, and be light Like the Northern Star
Verse 2:
We don’t need more walls
We need bridges
We don’t need more guns
People need clean water
because a thirsty man with a family
is more dangerous than an army
We don’t need more laws
We need more songs
to help us hear that every voice is strong
We don’t need money
We need mirrors
To see the fear In our reflection Clearer
Chorus :
Let’s spread love, and be light Like the Northern Star
We don’t need control
We need love…
